Dear Cornerstone Family,
Have you ever felt you were in way over your head with something? Maybe you got stuck doing work that you are not gifted or shaped or prepared or educated or equipped to do. You become stressed out and begin hitting the panic button. This is no way to live. Neither is coasting through life where everything is easy, mundane, or beneath your talent or skills.
God has shaped you for the purpose He has for your life. Imagine a life where you face interesting challenges where you are confident and in control and equipped to handle them. This is how God has SHAPED you! This is where you will find true joy in life.
1 Peter 4:10 (NIV) tells us, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” When we realize that this life isn’t about us, but instead it is about helping others discover God’s grace in their lives we find our purpose.
Romans 12:6-8 (NLT) tells us, “In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.”
When you discover your gifts and talents that God has given you and begin to use them for His glory, you will find true JOY in life!

Family Beach Day:
Join us for another amazing Family Beach Day, Sunday, Aug. 19, 1:00-8:00 pm! Baptisms, BBQ, volleyball, and a bonfire at sunset! Look for us at Silver Strand State Beach by Lifeguard Tower 4. Parking is $12 a vehicle. Hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided, so bring a side dish or dessert to share. This a great event to meet your Cornerstone family and to bring along some friends to who might not normally come to church. Come have some summer fun!
Men’s Retreat:
Guys, want to get away? Need to relax? Want to grow spiritually? Men’s Retreat is coming up Sept. 14-16, 2018, at Thousand Pines. It’s going to be great! There will be fellowship time and activities such as hiking, biking, paintball, zip lining, archery, rock wall, etc. Go relax, have some fun, and enjoy some great meals! Invite a friend too.
