Dear Cornerstone Family,
On holidays, and especially Thanksgiving, it is easy to find people who will pause and give thanks; but what if we became people who lived a lifestyle of gratitude towards God? What would that look like?
What could change our perspective on life so dramatically that we would radiate thankfulness?
As I read this passage from Philippians this morning, I started by bringing to the Lord all of the things that I am anxious about, because the Lord commands me not to be anxious about anything but to instead pray, rejoice, and be thankful.
Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV) tells us, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
This time of year can bring so much anxiety if we choose not to bring everything before the Lord. After laying it all before Him, we must choose not to take it back up again.
We must choose to have faith that He will give us the strength to do and be what HE desires for us.
Following THE Leader with you,
Pastor Ed Turley
