Dear Cornerstone Family,
Most Christians know that we are in a spiritual battle. The enemy, the devil, wants to destroy us and Jesus came to give us abundant life (John 10:10).
1 Peter 4:1 (NASB) teaches us, “Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.”
We are to arm ourselves with the same attitude of Jesus who bore the humiliation, ridicule, mockery, beatings, and even death in order to please God and to save us.
Too often there is a huge disconnect with how we worship on Sunday mornings to how we live the rest of the week.
1 Peter 4:3 (NLT) teaches us, “You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy—their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols.”
In Galatians 2:20-21 (NLT) the Apostle Paul teaches us a new attitude by saying, “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.”
Are you tired of the guilt and shame of living as if you don’t know God?
Have you had enough of emptiness, hurt and pain this world has to offer?
Then give your life fully over to the Savior who loves you and paid for your sins on the Cross. He promises to save you and to cleanse you from all your sin. He will give you a new life that is full of meaning, purpose, and peace!
