Dear Cornerstone Family,

I love Christmastime and hearing all the Christmas carols in every shopping store. If you think about it, we get a whole month to celebrate Jesus as the reason for the season. In Isaiah 7:14 (GW), we read, “So the Lord Himself will give you this sign: A virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and she will name Him Immanuel [God Is with Us].” Think about it, God chose to be with us.

Most religions talk about man trying to evolve himself to a higher level or even become a god. How different is the God of the Bible! God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to become one of us, but why did He do this?

In Hebrews 2:17-18 (NLT) we read, “Therefore, it was necessary for Jesus to be in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so that He could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. He then could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. Since He Himself has gone through suffering and temptation, He is able to help us when we are being tempted.”

Truly we have a Savior who understands us in every way so that we can call on Him. He has been through every hurt, pain, temptation, abuse, and rejection imaginable – He understands, and He will save us from our sins and give us a home in heaven where there will be no more pain or sorrow or tears! Revelation 21:4 (NLT) tells us, “He will remove all of their sorrows, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. For the old world and its evils are gone forever.”

Wherever you are at, whatever you have gone through in this life, I challenge you to come to God who understands you and desires a relationship with you. In Hebrews 4:16 (NIV) we read God’s invitation to us, “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

My Gift to Jesus

Thank you so much for your generosity! Together, we have raised over $4,000 to support our youth ministry in 2019! Although we have needed to make significant budget cuts, we are making this Christmas offering to go specifically to help our teens find and follow Jesus.

Christmas Eve Worship Services

This year we are encouraging everyone to celebrate Christmas with us at one of our two services on Christmas Eve, December 24th. Services are at 4:30 pm & 6:00 pm. Childcare will be available in the Nursery, for ages 0-3, during both services. Invite your family and friends. We look forward to celebrating with you!
