Dear Cornerstone Family,

There is a great difference between knowledge and wisdom. There are many times in my life when I know what the right thing is to do, but I don’t always do it. I know I should spend less and have financial margin; I know I should make good decisions at work and in my personal life; I know I should spend more time reading my Bible and praying (just to mention a few). Our problem isn’t knowledge; it’s learning how to apply knowledge in our everyday lives. That’s when knowledge becomes wisdom.

One of the biggest questions we must answer to become wiser is to whom or what will we place our trust in? If you are like me, I want to say I fully trust in God for everything; but there have been many times where my trust has been in my strength (which is getting weaker), my intellect (which is fuzzy at times), or my ability to create wealth (which comes and goes and goes). Each of these has failed me and yet there are times my heart leans towards what I think I can control.

Proverbs 3:5-10 teaches us, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”

To whom or what do you put your trust in? How can you place your trust in God more today than yesterday? What is something tangible you can do today to demonstrate you trust in God?

Following THE Leader with you,
