Dear Cornerstone Family,
This weekend we will be wrapping up our series on SHAPE by talking about how God can use our experiences for His kingdom. It is amazing how God shapes us through our experiences for ministry.
Whether it is success or tragedy, God can use it to mold us into the people He wants us to be. Sometimes, success may remind us of God’s blessings and other times it may leave us empty, feeling that there must be something more to this life. Sometimes a failure or a great loss may lead us to realize that there is so much we don’t have control over. This can bring us to a deeper dependence on God.
With each experience, we have a choice of how we respond to our circumstances. Our response will either give an excuse or encouragement to the next generation.
In 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 (NLT2) Paul writes, “We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. And He did rescue us from mortal danger, and He will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in Him, and He will continue to rescue us.”
Our response to the circumstances in our lives will either give an excuse or encouragement to the next generation. Faith is not believing God will always give us good circumstances. Faith is trusting that God loves you and is for you, despite the circumstances that come your way.

Not in a Life Group? Would you like to make new friends, get refueled and refreshed? Come check out our Thursday night worship and group Bible study in the Worship Center from 6-7:30 pm. We also have activities for kids K-5th grade. Come at 6 pm for food and fellowship. Worship and study begins at 6:15 pm. Bring a friend! Marriage Retreat
The Art Of Marriage Retreat, designed to help couples fully experience God’s design for marriage and strengthen families, will be held October 5&6, 2018 at the beautiful RB Radisson Hotel.
